56 WHEREAS, For more than a century, a day has been set aside
67 each year to honor those very special women among us, the mothers
78 who brought us into this world, protected us, and taught us how to
89 make our way, and on May 10, 2020, Texans and indeed all Americans
910 will join in celebrating Mother's Day in the United States; and
1011 WHEREAS, It is fitting that Mother's Day should be observed
1112 in the spring, when we see evidence of nature's renewal all around
1213 us; mothers give life, and they give unconditional love,
1314 encouraging their sons and daughters to work hard and to follow
1415 their dreams; and
1516 WHEREAS, On this meaningful day, we pay tribute to mothers
1617 for their determination to give their children the keys to a bright
1718 and promising future; resourceful and fearless in looking out for
1819 their loved ones of all ages, they are heroes in every sense of the
1920 word; and
2021 WHEREAS, Motherhood has been called "the toughest job you'll
2122 ever love," for it encompasses a tremendous range of challenges,
2223 opportunities, frustrations, and joys, and the ultimate rewards,
2324 intangible though they may be, are among life's most poignant and
2425 enduring; all mothers share a powerful bond in the love they have
2526 for their children, and that love, strong and true, enriches our
2627 world beyond measure; now, therefore, be it
2728 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
2829 Legislature hereby commemorate Mother's Day 2020, honor all
2930 mothers, including the members of this chamber who are moms, and pay
3031 tribute to the mothers who have passed on but endure in the memories
3132 of all those who held them dear.
