| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, For more than a century, a day has been set aside |

| 6 | 7 | | each year to honor those very special women among us, the mothers |

| 7 | 8 | | who brought us into this world, protected us, and taught us how to |

| 8 | 9 | | make our way, and on May 10, 2020, Texans and indeed all Americans |

| 9 | 10 | | will join in celebrating Mother's Day in the United States; and |

| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, It is fitting that Mother's Day should be observed |

| 11 | 12 | | in the spring, when we see evidence of nature's renewal all around |

| 12 | 13 | | us; mothers give life, and they give unconditional love, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | encouraging their sons and daughters to work hard and to follow |

| 14 | 15 | | their dreams; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, On this meaningful day, we pay tribute to mothers |

| 16 | 17 | | for their determination to give their children the keys to a bright |

| 17 | 18 | | and promising future; resourceful and fearless in looking out for |

| 18 | 19 | | their loved ones of all ages, they are heroes in every sense of the |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Motherhood has been called "the toughest job you'll |

| 21 | 22 | | ever love," for it encompasses a tremendous range of challenges, |

| 22 | 23 | | opportunities, frustrations, and joys, and the ultimate rewards, |

| 23 | 24 | | intangible though they may be, are among life's most poignant and |

| 24 | 25 | | enduring; all mothers share a powerful bond in the love they have |

| 25 | 26 | | for their children, and that love, strong and true, enriches our |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | world beyond measure; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commemorate Mother's Day 2020, honor all |

| 29 | 30 | | mothers, including the members of this chamber who are moms, and pay |

| 30 | 31 | | tribute to the mothers who have passed on but endure in the memories |

| 31 | 32 | | of all those who held them dear. |
