45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The Honorable David C. Davis retired as Haskell
67 County judge on March 31, 2019, concluding a noteworthy tenure that
78 spanned more than two decades; and
89 WHEREAS, First elected in 1996, David Davis ably fulfilled
910 the responsibilities of his office, going above and beyond in
1011 behalf of his fellow citizens; over the years, he further shared his
1112 knowledge and expertise by serving on countless boards and
1213 committees; and
1314 WHEREAS, Mr. Davis was born in Kinston, North Carolina, to
1415 Joe and Joyce Davis; he grew up in the Mattson community in Haskell
1516 County with a sister, Diana Kay, and attended Hardin-Simmons
1617 University; from 1970 to 1971, he served his country in the U.S.
1718 Army, and he was stationed in Virginia and Korea; he worked with his
1819 father on the family farm before buying an auto supply store, which
1920 he operated for 20 years; and
2021 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Davis is supported by the
2122 love and encouragement of his wife, Donna; and
2223 WHEREAS, Through his leadership and commitment to public
2324 service, David Davis has contributed immeasurably to his community,
2425 and his accomplishments will continue to resonate for years to
2526 come; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby congratulate David C. Davis on his retirement as
2829 Haskell County judge and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
2930 future; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Mr. Davis as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3233 House of Representatives.
