| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of Jimmie Lee Mason Sr. of Lubbock, who passed away on April 5, |

| 7 | 8 | | 2019, at the age of 89; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Jimmie Lee Mason was born to Harrell and Louise |

| 9 | 10 | | Mason on March 17, 1930, in Big Spring, and he grew up with the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | companionship of two siblings, Preston and Lynda; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A certified public accountant, Mr. Mason founded |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | the successful firm Mason Warner & Company, and he gave back to his |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | professional community by mentoring fellow CPAs and supporting |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | accounting education at all levels; he also served on the Texas |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | State Board of Public Accountancy and took an active role in the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, which recognized him |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | with numerous accolades; moreover, he was involved with a number of |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | civic and nonprofit organizations, including the Statewide Health |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Coordinating Council; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Mason enjoyed the love and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | support of his wife, Wanda, with whom he shared a rewarding marriage |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | that spanned 66 years; he was the proud father of three children, |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Jimmie, Kristi, and Greg, and he had the pleasure of welcoming into |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | his family six grandchildren, Nicole, Brett, Taylor, Davis, Sydney, |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | and Lauren, and five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tripp, Turner, |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Dean, and Joseph; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Jimmie Lee Mason lived a life that was rich in |

| 28 | 29 | | personal and professional achievements, and he will forever be a |

| 29 | 30 | | source of inspiration to those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
