45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Senior Officer Crystal Bustamante was named the 2018
67 Investigator of the Year by the Corpus Christi Police Department in
78 recognition of her outstanding service; and
89 WHEREAS, A 22-year veteran of the department, Officer
910 Bustamante played a vital role in the arrest of six men who shot a
1011 Corpus Christi couple to death during a home invasion in April 2018;
1112 and
1213 WHEREAS, Multiple law enforcement agencies were working on
1314 the case when Officer Bustamante made a connection between a stolen
1415 vehicle associated with the crime and several of the suspects,
1516 linking them as well to previous aggravated robberies and
1617 break-ins; her skill, hard work, and attention to detail helped to
1718 bring these dangerous criminals to justice; and
1819 WHEREAS, Senior Officer Bustamante has proven herself to be
1920 an exemplary member of her profession, and she may indeed reflect
2021 with pride on her contributions to the safety and well-being of the
2122 citizens of Corpus Christi; now, therefore, be it
2223 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
2324 Legislature hereby congratulate Senior Officer Crystal Bustamante
2425 on being named the Corpus Christi Police Department 2018
2526 Investigator of the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes for
2627 continued success with her important work; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for Senior Officer Bustamante as an expression of high
2930 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
