| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Launched in 2015, this nonpartisan leadership |

| 10 | 11 | | Hispanic women in elected and appointed offices across the country |

| 11 | 12 | | by equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in their |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | political aspirations; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, During the six-month course, LLI provides |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | participants with a highly personalized experience and a safe |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | environment for learning, and it offers expertise and insight from |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | a host of local civic and political leaders; since its founding, the |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | program has seen many of its graduates go on to serve on boards, run |

| 18 | 19 | | for office, pursue higher education, and start new nonprofits; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The Latina Leadership Institute is strengthening |

| 20 | 21 | | the fabric of the San Antonio community by empowering Hispanic |

| 21 | 22 | | women to take on leadership roles, and in so doing, it is helping to |

| 22 | 23 | | build a brighter and more prosperous future for the Lone Star State |
