45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Latina
67 Leadership Institute is celebrating the fourth anniversary of its
78 founding in 2019; and
89 WHEREAS, Launched in 2015, this nonpartisan leadership
910 development program seeks to increase the representation of
1011 Hispanic women in elected and appointed offices across the country
1112 by equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in their
1213 political aspirations; and
1314 WHEREAS, During the six-month course, LLI provides
1415 participants with a highly personalized experience and a safe
1516 environment for learning, and it offers expertise and insight from
1617 a host of local civic and political leaders; since its founding, the
1718 program has seen many of its graduates go on to serve on boards, run
1819 for office, pursue higher education, and start new nonprofits; and
1920 WHEREAS, The Latina Leadership Institute is strengthening
2021 the fabric of the San Antonio community by empowering Hispanic
2122 women to take on leadership roles, and in so doing, it is helping to
2223 build a brighter and more prosperous future for the Lone Star State
2324 and beyond; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby congratulate the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of
2627 Commerce Latina Leadership Institute on its fourth anniversary and
2728 extend to all those associated with the program sincere best wishes
2829 for the future; and, be it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for the Latina Leadership Institute as an expression of
3132 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
