56 WHEREAS, Members of young professional organizations,
67 student governments, and other youth groups from around the state
78 are gathering at the Capitol in Austin on May 1, 2019; and
89 WHEREAS, Young people are among our most important resources
910 and will contribute greatly to the state's prosperity in the years
1011 ahead; gatherings such as today's Young Texans Day enable emerging
1112 leaders to network, to learn from one another, and to develop vital
1213 career skills; and
1314 WHEREAS, With the 86th Legislative Session well under way,
1415 the Capitol is a source of bustling political activity, offering
1516 visitors an excellent opportunity to see their state government in
1617 action; the civic-minded young Texans attending this event have
1718 demonstrated commendable initiative and enthusiasm, traits that
1819 will serve them well throughout their lives; and
1920 WHEREAS, By strengthening their professional ties and
2021 building on their knowledge about the democratic process, these
2122 dynamic young Texans are helping to create a brighter and more
2223 promising future for all; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby recognize May 1, 2019, as Young Texans Day at the
2526 State Capitol and extend to all those visiting best wishes for an
2627 engaging and informative day in Austin.
