| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Howard County Day at the State Capitol is taking |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Howard County is a center for the petroleum and |

| 8 | 9 | | energy industry, education, health care, farming and ranching, |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | transportation, manufacturing, and other active trades; located |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | between the Llano Estacado and the Edwards Plateau, Big Spring, the |

| 11 | 12 | | county seat, and other towns, including Coahoma, Forsan, Knott, and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Sand Springs, share a rich history, and today the area is |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | experiencing new and continuing development as citizens look ahead |

| 14 | 15 | | to the opportunities of the future; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Residents and visitors enjoy an array of |

| 16 | 17 | | recreational activities found in the trails and green spaces at Big |

| 17 | 18 | | Spring State Park, Comanche Trail Park, and Moss Lake, and they can |

| 18 | 19 | | learn about Howard County's colorful past at the Heritage Museum, |

| 19 | 20 | | the Hangar 25 Air Museum, and the newly renovated Historic Big |

| 20 | 21 | | Spring; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to their communities and to the land |

| 22 | 23 | | that has shaped them, the people of Howard County may take |

| 23 | 24 | | justifiable pride in their efforts to cultivate a rich and vital |

| 24 | 25 | | quality of life, knowing that the robust spirit of earlier |

| 25 | 26 | | generations is alive and well in their own; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby recognize February 27, 2019, as Howard County |

| 28 | 29 | | Day at the State Capitol and extend to the visiting delegation |

| 29 | 30 | | sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable stay in Austin. |
