56 WHEREAS, The 6th Annual Wild West BBQ Cook-Off is taking
67 place in Bexar County October 18-20, 2019; and
78 WHEREAS, An International Barbeque Cookers Association
89 sanctioned championship cook-off, this much-anticipated event
910 attracts talented chefs from across the state; these highly skilled
1011 pit masters are putting their culinary skills to the test as they
1112 vie to produce the tastiest entries in several different
1213 categories; guests have the opportunity to sample a variety of
1314 savory dishes while enjoying a fun, family-oriented day that will
1415 also include a dance, silent auction, and live auction; and
1516 WHEREAS, The cook-off raises funds to benefit the Combat
1617 Marine Outdoors organization, which serves veterans who have
1718 suffered injuries and disabilities by providing them with
1819 opportunities to enjoy hunting, fishing, and other outdoor
1920 activities at no expense; and
2021 WHEREAS, Texans are renowned for their love of barbecue, and
2122 the Wild West BBQ Cook-Off is sure to offer everyone in attendance
2223 the chance to enjoy exceptional cuisine, entertainment, and South
2324 Texas hospitality while supporting a worthwhile cause; now,
2425 therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby commemorate the 2019 Wild West BBQ Cook-Off and
2728 extend to its organizers, participants, and attendees sincere best
2829 wishes for an enjoyable and memorable event.
