5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Jacob Henry Neidig of Elgin High School has |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Harlan and Juanita Neidig, Mr. Neidig has |

9 | 10 | | demonstrated great intellect and aptitude and a dedication to the |

10 | 11 | | highest academic standards throughout his high school career; an AP |
---|
11 | 12 | | Scholar and a National Hispanic Scholar, he is currently ranked |
---|
12 | 13 | | first in his class at Elgin High School with a 4.0 grade point |

13 | 14 | | average; and |

14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, In addition to managing a demanding course load, |

15 | 16 | | Mr. Neidig has excelled in athletics, playing for the football and |

16 | 17 | | baseball teams and participating in cross-country, powerlifting, |

17 | 18 | | tennis, and golf; he is a member of the Fellowship of Christian |

18 | 19 | | Athletes, the Elgin High School Football Leadership Council, and |

20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Neidig has further contributed to his campus |

21 | 22 | | community as the senior class representative and as a member of the |

22 | 23 | | Student-Principal-Superintendent Advisory Committee; elected |

23 | 24 | | homecoming king by his fellow students, he has served as president |

24 | 25 | | of the National Honor Society and Key Club, attended the American |

25 | 26 | | Legion Boys State leadership program, and organized a bipartisan |

26 | 27 | | voter registration event at Elgin High School; engaged in the wider |

27 | 28 | | community as well, he has volunteered with Ronald McDonald House |

28 | 29 | | Charities of Central Texas and Sacred Heart Catholic Church; and |

29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, The first person in his immediate family to attend |

30 | 31 | | college, Mr. Neidig has been accepted by such prestigious schools |

31 | 32 | | as The University of Texas at Austin, Georgetown University, Rice |

33 | 34 | | Harvard University; he also got into his dream school, Stanford |

35 | 36 | | political science; his long-term goals include earning a law |

36 | 37 | | degree, working as a civil rights attorney, and pursuing a career in |

38 | 39 | | WHEREAS, Through his hard work and commitment to excellence, |
