5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Gloria E. López was sworn in as judge of the 308th |

6 | 7 | | Family Court in Harris County on January 1, 2019, representing an |

7 | 8 | | impressive milestone in her accomplished career; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in McAllen, Gloria López graduated from high |
---|
9 | 10 | | school in 2004 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in government |
---|
10 | 11 | | and Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin; in May 2010, she |
---|
11 | 12 | | received her law degree from Texas Southern University; and |
---|
12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Judge López was hired in 2011 as an associate in The |
---|
13 | 14 | | Hall Law Firm, a civil litigation firm, and from 2012 to 2018, she |
---|
14 | 15 | | operated her own practice specializing in family law; through the |
---|
15 | 16 | | years, she has handled more than 300 civil and family cases in |
---|
16 | 17 | | Harris County; she was elected to preside over the 308th Family |
---|
17 | 18 | | Court on November 6, 2018; and |
---|
18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Gloria López has distinguished herself through her |

19 | 20 | | legal expertise, professionalism, and compassion, and she may |

20 | 21 | | indeed reflect with pride on her achievements as she takes on the |

21 | 22 | | challenges and opportunities of her new position; now, therefore, |
