7 | 8 | | mayor Ida Mae Browning on April 8, 2019, at the age of 91; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Lee and Mary Birmingham, the former |

9 | 10 | | "Tiney" Birmingham was born in Port Lavaca on June 28, 1927, and |

10 | 11 | | grew up with four siblings, Roemer, Leslie, Dempsey, and Lorraine; |

11 | 12 | | early in her career, she worked at Bauer Dredging as an executive |

12 | 13 | | secretary and supervisor of accounting before leaving to care for |

13 | 14 | | her ailing mother; she was later employed as an executive secretary |

27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, After leaving office in 2000, Mrs. Browning |

28 | 28 | | continued to benefit her fellow citizens as a member of the city |

29 | 29 | | planning commission, the Calhoun County Senior Citizens |

30 | 30 | | Association Board, and the board of the Sunlight Girls Club; in |

31 | 31 | | addition, she was a Boy Scout den mother, a member of Beta Sigma Phi |

32 | 32 | | Sorority, and a lifetime member of the Calhoun County Fair |

33 | 33 | | Association; the recipient of numerous honors, she was presented |

34 | 34 | | with the key to the city on her 90th birthday, and she was named |

35 | 35 | | Mother of the Year by Governor Ann Richards; and |

36 | 36 | | WHEREAS, Diligent, kind, and vivacious, Tiney Browning |

37 | 37 | | earned the admiration and affection of all who were fortunate |

38 | 38 | | enough to know her, and her outstanding contributions to Port |

39 | 39 | | Lavaca will be remembered for years to come; now, therefore, be it |

40 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

41 | 41 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of the Honorable Ida Mae |
