| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Scott Houdashell and Curtis McGill of Amarillo have |

| 8 | 8 | | new product, the Eggmazing Egg Decorator; and |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Convinced there was a better way to decorate Easter |

| 10 | 10 | | eggs than the messy traditional process involving dyes and vinegar, |

| 11 | 11 | | Mr. Houdashell designed a device that allows a child to use colored |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | markers on a slowly spinning egg; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Together, Mr. Houdashell and Mr. McGill formed a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | company, HeyBuddyHeyPal, LLC, and manufactured 10,000 units of the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Eggmazing decorator; working with their families, they marketed it |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and sold it themselves, and shortly before Easter 2017, a video of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the device went viral on the Internet, receiving 13.6 million |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | views; by Easter 2018, the device was number one in the toy category |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | on Amazon.com; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In January 2017, Mr. Houdashell, Mr. McGill, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the Eggmazing decorator auditioned for the reality TV show Shark |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Tank, and the following year, they appeared on the national |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | broadcast, receiving three offers to invest; they accepted the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | offer from inventor Lori Greiner, whose $350,000 investment bought |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | her 10 percent of the company; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Through their creativity, enterprise, and hard |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | work, Scott Houdashell and Curtis McGill have proven to be dynamic |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | participants in the proud Texas tradition of innovation and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | entrepreneurship; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Scott Houdashell and Curtis McGill |
