| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Members of Leadership Gainesville are visiting the |

| 6 | 7 | | State Capitol on February 13, 2019, and this occasion provides a |

| 7 | 8 | | fitting opportunity to honor this esteemed organization and the |

| 8 | 9 | | town it represents; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Gainesville was established in 1989 to |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | seek out and train well-informed, civic-minded individuals who are |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | interested in holding voluntary positions of responsibility in the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | community; sponsored by the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the group includes members from a variety of backgrounds, as well as |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | persons of different ages; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The current class is composed of 20 distinguished |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Gainesville has earned a reputation for offering a |

| 23 | 24 | | high quality of life in a small-town setting; designated as a Medal |

| 25 | 26 | | USA Today and Rand McNally, the community is known for its historic |

| 26 | 27 | | homes, the Morton Museum, the beautifully restored courthouse, and |

| 27 | 28 | | the downtown business district; also recognized for its friendly, |

| 28 | 29 | | welcoming residents, Gainesville has been dubbed "the Front Porch |

| 29 | 30 | | to Texas"; and |

| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Gainesville is promoting the spirit of |

| 31 | 32 | | volunteerism and hometown pride that are defining characteristics |

| 32 | 33 | | of Gainesville, and by fostering an informed and engaged citizenry, |

| 33 | 34 | | the program is helping to build a brighter and more prosperous |

| 34 | 35 | | future for the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |

| 35 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

| 36 | 37 | | Legislature hereby welcome members of Leadership Gainesville to the |

| 37 | 38 | | State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued |
