5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Kevin Dickey retired from the Austin District of the |

6 | 7 | | Texas Department of Transportation on April 30, 2019, after more |

7 | 8 | | than 32 years with the agency; and |
---|
8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&M University, this licensed |
---|
9 | 10 | | professional engineer first joined TxDOT in 1987, when he took a |
---|
10 | 11 | | position in the Waco District; over the succeeding years, he served |
---|
11 | 12 | | that district in a number of different roles, including as director |
---|
12 | 13 | | of transportation planning and development, and his efforts were |
---|
13 | 14 | | essential to such important projects as the 96-mile expansion of |
---|
14 | 15 | | IH-35; and |
---|
15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Dickey was appointed deputy district engineer |
---|
16 | 17 | | for the Austin District in 2015, and for three and a half years, he |
---|
17 | 18 | | helped lead TxDOT efforts in the Capitol City and surrounding area; |

18 | 19 | | and |
---|
19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Kevin Dickey has made significant contributions to |
---|
20 | 21 | | advancing the mission of the Texas Department of Transportation, |
---|
21 | 22 | | and he may take well-deserved pride in his exceptional record of |

22 | 23 | | achievement; now, therefore, be it |

23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Kevin Dickey on his retirement from |
---|
25 | 26 | | the Texas Department of Transportation and extend to him sincere |

26 | 27 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
