| 8 | 9 | | one of the longest and most divisive conflicts in our nation's |

| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, More than three million members of the U.S. armed |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | forces were deployed to Southeast Asia between the time of the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | passage of the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution in 1964 and the final |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | withdrawal of American combat forces from Vietnam in 1973; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Whether they enlisted or were drafted, members of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | the Hunt County community were among those who bravely served as the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | "boots on the ground" in Vietnam, and their contributions played an |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | invaluable role in the war effort; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Texans owe a profound debt of gratitude to those |

| 19 | 20 | | area residents who fulfilled the highest ideals of the U.S. |

| 21 | 22 | | appropriate to reflect on the immeasurable fortitude and valor they |
