H.R. No. 1625 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Julia Durnan has ably served her fellow Texans as a policy analyst in the office of State Representative Gene Wu during the 86th Legislative Session; and WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Durnan has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, and she has been particularly instrumental in conducting research and advancing Representative Wu's legislative agenda on initiatives concerning criminal and juvenile justice; and WHEREAS, Ms. Durnan is an alumna of Duke University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in public policy with distinction in 2015; she is currently a student at The University of Texas at Austin and is on track to receive her master's degree in public affairs in May 2020; before beginning her work at the State Capitol, she acquired experience in policy research as a case manager for the Law Office of Mario Ramos in Nashville, Tennessee, as an intern for NVG in Washington, D.C., and as a policy analyst and project associate for the Urban Institute Justice Policy Center in Washington, D.C.; and WHEREAS, Julia Durnan has performed her duties as a policy analyst with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas Legislature hereby commend Julia Durnan for her service as a policy analyst in the office of State Representative Gene Wu and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Durnan as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
