| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Julia Durnan has ably served her fellow Texans as a |

| 6 | 7 | | policy analyst in the office of State Representative Gene Wu during |

| 7 | 8 | | the 86th Legislative Session; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Durnan has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |

| 10 | 11 | | and she has been particularly instrumental in conducting research |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | and advancing Representative Wu's legislative agenda on |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | initiatives concerning criminal and juvenile justice; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Durnan is an alumna of Duke University, where |

| 14 | 15 | | she earned her bachelor's degree in public policy with distinction |

| 15 | 16 | | in 2015; she is currently a student at The University of Texas at |

| 16 | 17 | | Austin and is on track to receive her master's degree in public |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | affairs in May 2020; before beginning her work at the State Capitol, |

| 18 | 19 | | she acquired experience in policy research as a case manager for the |

| 19 | 20 | | Law Office of Mario Ramos in Nashville, Tennessee, as an intern for |

| 20 | 21 | | NVG in Washington, D.C., and as a policy analyst and project |

| 21 | 22 | | associate for the Urban Institute Justice Policy Center in |

| 22 | 23 | | Washington, D.C.; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Julia Durnan has performed her duties as a policy |

| 24 | 25 | | analyst with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of |

| 25 | 26 | | special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it |
