| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The Spirit Championship follows a "game day" format |

| 10 | 11 | | designed to showcase the skills and techniques the squads have |

| 11 | 12 | | honed while cheering for their schools; this year, 486 teams |

| 12 | 13 | | participated in the season, with only 20 advancing to the state |

| 13 | 14 | | competition in each conference; and |

| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Brackett cheerleading squad |

| 15 | 16 | | distinguished themselves with their outstanding performance at the |

| 16 | 17 | | state event; they earned 39.65 points in the fight song and band |

| 17 | 18 | | dance category and dominated the crowd leading category with 46.45 |

| 18 | 19 | | points, for a total of 86.1 points; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, With their fine showing at the Spirit Championship, |

| 20 | 21 | | these outstanding young Texans have proudly represented Brackett |

| 21 | 22 | | High, and the dedication the students have demonstrated is sure to |

| 22 | 23 | | serve them well in the years ahead; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
