| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Sydney Mahl has ably served her fellow Texans as an |

| 6 | 7 | | aide in the office of State Representative Chris Turner during the |

| 7 | 8 | | 86th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Mahl has provided vital |

| 9 | 10 | | assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; her responsibilities |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | have included organizing the representative's schedule and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | attending weekly meetings with organizations and advocates on his |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | behalf; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A senior at The University of Texas at Austin, |

| 17 | 18 | | Ms. Mahl is completing her bachelor's degree in journalism with a |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | minor in business; she served as an administrative intern for the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Texas Advocacy Project, and she has benefited UT Student Government |

| 20 | 21 | | as an out-of-state student liaison; in addition, she has written |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | for The Daily Texan and other publications; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |

| 25 | 26 | | therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commend Sydney Mahl for her service as a |
