45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Saul Mendoza has ably served his fellow Texans as
67 chief of staff in the office of State Representative James White
78 during the 86th Legislature; and
89 WHEREAS, Since becoming a legislative employee, Mr. Mendoza
910 has handled a wide variety of challenging tasks; he has provided
1011 vital leadership to Representative White's staff, overseeing the
1112 Capitol, district, and House Corrections Committee offices while
1213 also assisting with the member's legislative agenda and casework
1314 for constituents in Tyler, Jasper, Newton, Hardin, and Polk
1415 Counties; Mr. Mendoza worked for Representative White during three
1516 previous regular sessions of the legislature, beginning as an
1617 intern and aide during the 83rd Legislature and going on to become
1718 legislative and communications director for the 84th Legislature;
1819 during the 85th Legislature, he assumed his current role as the
1920 representative's chief of staff; and
2021 WHEREAS, A native of Mexico, Mr. Mendoza moved to California
2122 with his family before they settled in Lufkin, where he graduated
2223 from high school magna cum laude in 2009; he studied Spanish
2324 literature at The University of Texas at Austin, and even before he
2425 graduated in 2012, he had already worked on the campaigns of
2526 Representative James White and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and served in
2627 the office of Representative Jim Landtroop during the 82nd
2728 Legislature; in the years since, he has contributed his time and
2829 energy to FreedomWorks and the campaigns of State Senator Konni
2930 Burton and Governor Greg Abbott; in 2014, he was proud to become a
3031 naturalized citizen of the United States; and
3132 WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his
3233 duties as chief of staff with skill and dedication, and he is indeed
3334 deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore,
3435 be it
3536 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
3637 Legislature hereby commend Saul Mendoza for his service as chief of
3738 staff for State Representative James White and extend to him
3839 sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors;
3940 and, be it further
4041 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4142 prepared for Mr. Mendoza as an expression of high regard by the
4243 Texas House of Representatives.
