| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, For more than 30 years, the post office in Valentine |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The town of Valentine received its name because it |

| 9 | 10 | | was founded on February 14, 1882, and in recent years, its post |

| 10 | 11 | | office has provided a special romantic postmark for the holiday, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | with a new design every year; individuals from across the nation and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | as far away as Switzerland and Japan send letters to Texas to be |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | stamped with the special cancellation; on average, the post office |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | processes 12,000 love letters each year, and it has received as many |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | as 30,000; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Each year's postmark is selected through a |

| 17 | 18 | | competition for local schoolchildren; the 2019 winning entry was |

| 18 | 19 | | created by Jordan Miller, an eighth grader in the Valentine |

| 19 | 20 | | Independent School District; the design shows the back of a pickup |

| 20 | 21 | | truck, with the date, the name of the town and its zip code, and |

| 21 | 22 | | "Love Station" written across the tailgate and the bumper; the |

| 22 | 23 | | truck is flanked by a line from the classic Waylon Jennings song |

| 23 | 24 | | "Luckenbach, Texas (Back to the Basics of Love)"; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, This unique and charming tradition helps |
