| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Calaveras Motorcycle Club have |

| 7 | 8 | | to communities in Texas and all across the country, and their |

| 8 | 9 | | efforts are indeed deserving of recognition; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Based in the Lone Star State, the Calaveras |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Motorcycle Club is a nationwide organization with a diverse |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | membership that includes doctors, attorneys, firefighters, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | educators, welders, mechanics, and retired military personnel, to |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | name but a few of the professions that are represented; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The individuals who are part of this close-knit |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | network lend support to one another and are renowned for the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | valuable assistance they provide to those in need; the club |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | regularly sponsors barbecues and raffles for charitable causes, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | including initiatives that support children and adults suffering |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | from life-threatening diseases; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, During the holidays, the club sponsors toy drives at |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Wal-Mart locations and hand-delivers the presents to boys and girls |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | who are economically disadvantaged or residing in foster homes or |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | hospitals; in addition, Calaveras riders often raise funds to |

| 24 | 25 | | benefit veterans' organizations; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Staying true to their motto, "I'm My Brother's |

| 26 | 27 | | Keeper," the members of the Calaveras Motorcycle Club have |

| 27 | 28 | | demonstrated a strong commitment to helping others, and their |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | willingness to give of their time and energy sets an outstanding |

| 29 | 30 | | example of civic engagement; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby commend the Calaveras Motorcycle Club for its |

| 32 | 33 | | exceptional record of community service and extend to its members |

| 33 | 34 | | sincere best wishes for success with their philanthropic endeavors; |
