H.R. No. 293
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Belton High School cheerleading squad achieved
great distinction by winning its division at the 2019 National
Cheerleaders Association High School Nationals held January 26 and
27 in Dallas; and
WHEREAS, Delivering an impressive performance in its
first-ever appearance at nationals, Belton captured the
championship title in Large Coed Intermediate High School
competition; the team incurred no deductions over the course of the
two-day event, earning a raw score of 97 and finishing with
preliminary and final event scores of 24.25 and 97.45; and
WHEREAS, Belton's cheerleaders qualified for the NCA
nationals after receiving superior ribbons in the Chant, Band
Chant, and Cheer categories at an NCA camp in July 2018; and
WHEREAS, Through countless hours of hard work and an
unwavering commitment to excellence, the members of the Belton
cheerleading squad have proven themselves to be among the best in
the nation, and they are a source of tremendous pride to their
school and community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Belton High School
cheerleading squad on winning its division at the 2019 National
Cheerleaders Association High School Nationals and extend to the
team's members, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
