| 9 | 10 | | by Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and Lancaster; after a 2016 |

| 10 | 11 | | expansion that added Ferris, Glenn Heights, Hutchins, Midlothian, |

| 11 | 12 | | Ovilla, Red Oak, Wilmer, and Balch Springs, the organization now |

| 12 | 13 | | includes 12 cities and 18 partner hospitals, colleges, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | universities, banks, utilities, and other businesses that work |

| 14 | 15 | | together to encourage economic, legislative, and educational |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | well-being for Southwest Dallas and North Ellis Counties; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1985, Leadership Southwest is a |

| 17 | 18 | | nine-month program that offers networking opportunities and |

| 18 | 19 | | seminars with leaders in the fields of education, law enforcement, |

| 19 | 20 | | government, health, economic development, and transportation; |
|---|

| 21 | 22 | | encouraging growth in Southwest Dallas County; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved |

| 23 | 24 | | citizenry and to develop new leaders, the members of Best Southwest |
