| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The 104th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly |

| 6 | 7 | | cause for celebration, and Alton Claud Huff of Corpus Christi |

| 7 | 8 | | marked this momentous milestone in his life on October 26, 2018; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in Bee House in 1914, A. C. Huff is the son of |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | Oliver and Mamie Huff; he grew up with a brother, General Novis |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Huff, and as a boy he picked cotton and performed other work on the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | farm; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Huff married the former Billy Jean Wheeler on |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | April 30, 1944, and they became the proud parents of two children, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Brenda and Larry Bill; eventually, their family grew to include a |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | cherished granddaughter, Heather; the couple shared a rewarding |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | relationship of 63 years before Mrs. Huff's death in 2007; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, While employed at Sinclair Refinery, Mr. Huff |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | developed a passion for boat racing; he won the 1954 world |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | championship in Class D runabouts, and the following year, he |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | opened Huff Marine in Corpus Christi; today, the business continues |

| 21 | 22 | | to thrive under the leadership of his daughter and her husband, |

| 22 | 23 | | Ronnie Nance; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A. C. Huff has witnessed a panorama of change over |

| 24 | 25 | | the course of more than a century, and he has met life's challenges |

| 25 | 26 | | and opportunities with dignity and grace, earning the deep |

| 26 | 27 | | admiration of all who are privileged to know him; now, therefore, be |
