| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Steve Waterman retired as the director of the Office |

| 6 | 7 | | of Commissioners Court Administration for Nueces County on March |

| 7 | 8 | | 31, 2018, drawing to a close nearly a quarter century of service to |

|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Waterman earned his bachelor's degree at |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Minnesota State University in 1966, and after joining the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | U.S. Navy, he received a second bachelor's degree from the Naval |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Postgraduate School; he served his nation as a naval aviator, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | flying Lockheed P-3 Orion antisubmarine and maritime surveillance |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | aircraft, and over the course of his military career, he rose |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | through the ranks to become the comptroller of Naval Air Station |

| 16 | 17 | | Corpus Christi; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Following his retirement from the navy, |

| 18 | 19 | | Mr. Waterman began his tenure with Nueces County in 1995; he worked |

| 19 | 20 | | in the auditor's office for more than a decade, serving under three |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | judges, and in December 2006, he was appointed the first director of |

| 21 | 22 | | the newly created Office of Commissioners Court Administration, a |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | role in which he helped oversee the efficient operation of county |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | government; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Steve Waterman's dedication, professionalism, and |

| 25 | 26 | | commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Nueces County and earned him the respect and admiration of his |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | colleagues, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well |

| 28 | 29 | | spent; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
