| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Taryn Melugin of Corpus Christi marked a significant |

| 6 | 7 | | milestone in her life in May 2018, when she graduated summa cum |

| 7 | 8 | | laude from Texas A&M University-Kingsville; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Demonstrating impressive commitment to her studies, |

| 9 | 10 | | Ms. Melugin received her bachelor's degree in social work from the |

| 10 | 11 | | Department of Clinical Health Sciences; in addition to successfully |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | completing a challenging academic course load, she has led the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Student Veterans Association, the Social Work Student Association, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | and the Phi Alpha Honor Society as president, and she has been a |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | member of the Student Organization Forum Committee; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Along the way, Ms. Melugin ably served her fellow |

| 16 | 17 | | Texans as an intern in the office of State Representative Abel |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Herrero, and she has gained further experience as a youth |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | development coordinator and teen group leader at the YWCA in Corpus |

| 19 | 20 | | Christi; moreover, she has served as an overseas care coordinator |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | for wounded soldiers at multiple U.S. Army bases, and she has given |

| 21 | 22 | | generously of her time through her work with children, senior |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | citizens, and therapy horses, as well as by volunteering at an |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | election polling location; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this |

| 25 | 26 | | outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join her family and |

| 26 | 27 | | friends in recognizing her as she looks ahead to a bright and |

| 27 | 28 | | promising future; now, therefore, be it |
