5	5		WHEREAS, In an outstanding demonstration of courage and
6	6		dedication to duty, Deputies Braedon Boznango and Carlton
7	7		Carrington of the Chambers County Sheriff's Office risked their
8	8		lives to rescue a man from a burning vehicle on December 13, 2018;
9	9		and
10	10		WHEREAS, On that evening, the deputies were called to the
11	11		scene of a major accident on State Highway 124 just south of Winnie,
12	12		where they found a vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames; and
13	13		WHEREAS, Braving intense heat, the two officers were able to
14	14		pull the vehicle's unconscious driver through one of its windows;
15	15		the victim, who suffered severe burn injuries, was airlifted to a
16	16		hospital but managed to improve to stable condition within several
17	17		days; and
18	18		WHEREAS, Hailed as heroes for their actions on that day,
19	19		Deputies Braedon Boznango and Carlton Carrington placed themselves
20	20		in harm's way to save a man from certain death, and the unhesitating
21	21		selflessness of these valiant officers is a source of pride to their
22	22		department and community; now, therefore, be it
23	23		RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
24	24		Legislature hereby commend Deputies Braedon Boznango and Carlton
25	25		Carrington of the Chambers County Sheriff's Office for rescuing a
26	26		motorist from a burning vehicle and extend to these exemplary
27	27		officers sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
28	28		RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
29	29		prepared for Deputies Boznango and Carrington as an expression of
30	30		high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
