| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, KP George has been elected as Fort Bend County |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Judge George |

| 8 | 9 | | will draw on a wealth of valuable experience; he previously served |

| 9 | 10 | | two terms on the school board of the Fort Bend Independent School |

| 10 | 11 | | District, and he has been a leading member of the Sugar Land Rotary |

| 11 | 12 | | Club and the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce; as presiding officer of |

| 12 | 13 | | the Fort Bend County Commissioners Court and director of the |

| 13 | 14 | | county's Office of Emergency Management, he will be chief executive |

| 14 | 15 | | of one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, overseeing |

| 15 | 16 | | 3,000 employees and an annual budget of $370 million; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Born in a village in India, Mr. George emigrated to |

| 17 | 18 | | the United States in 1993, and six years later, he settled in Sugar |

| 18 | 19 | | Land, where he runs a successful financial planning practice; he |

| 19 | 20 | | helped to found the Hightower High School Academies Booster Club, |

| 20 | 21 | | and he is a member of the Fort Bend ISD Parent Advisory Committee; |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |

| 23 | 24 | | life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts |

| 24 | 25 | | of KP George will help to make Fort Bend County an even better place |

| 25 | 26 | | in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
