45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The members of the Panhandle High School marching
67 band distinguished themselves with a fine showing at the 2018
78 University Interscholastic League State Marching Contest; and
89 WHEREAS, Following a historic season, the "Pride of
910 Panhandle" marching band joined top competitors from across Texas
1011 at the Alamodome in San Antonio on November 6, 2018; the band
1112 performed admirably in the preliminary round, ultimately earning a
1213 12th place finish out of 138 Class 2A bands; and
1314 WHEREAS, Under the skillful guidance of director Nick
1415 Stephenson and assistant director Victoria Kreutzer, the group
1516 performed at the UIL State Marching Contest for the third time in
1617 four years; and
1718 WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
1819 high school marching bands, these dedicated musicians have ably
1920 represented their school and community, and they will cherish their
2021 memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now,
2122 therefore, be it
2223 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
2324 Legislature hereby congratulate the Panhandle High School marching
2425 band on its 12th place finish in Class 2A at the 2018 UIL State
2526 Marching Contest and that all those associated with the band be
2627 extended sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
2728 further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3031 House of Representatives.
