7 | 8 | | 2018, drawing to a close a long and fulfilling career with the Girl |

8 | 9 | | Scouts that spanned 44 years; and |

9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A Pampa native, Ms. Stephenson began her |

10 | 11 | | involvement in scouting in the second grade and has been a stalwart |
---|
11 | 12 | | supporter of the organization ever since; she joined the staff of |
---|
12 | 13 | | the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains after moving to Amarillo |
---|
13 | 14 | | with her husband in 1974 and was elevated to the position of outdoor |
---|
14 | 15 | | education manager six years later; in that role, she planned |
---|
15 | 16 | | outdoor programs for the 82 counties GSTOP covers, as well as for |
---|
16 | 17 | | the group's Texas camps, and she supervised a full-time staff at |
---|
17 | 18 | | GSTOP's headquarters in Fort Worth; she also served as the resident |
---|
18 | 19 | | director of Camp Kiwanis in Amarillo, which welcomes an average of |
---|
19 | 20 | | 500 scouts each summer; and |
---|
20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her affiliation with the Girl Scouts, |
---|
21 | 22 | | Ms. Stephenson embraced the opportunity to mentor and nurture the |
---|
22 | 23 | | talents of its members; her work involved organizing outdoor |
---|
23 | 24 | | adventures such as horseback riding and swimming, and she enjoyed |
---|
24 | 25 | | watching campers overcome their fears and push themselves to |
---|
25 | 26 | | greater heights while forming friendships and making lasting |
---|
26 | 27 | | memories; and |
---|
27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Through her dedication, skill, and undeniable |

28 | 29 | | passion for the Girl Scouts organization, Natalie Stephenson has |

29 | 30 | | helped make scouting a more rewarding and enriching experience for |

30 | 31 | | countless young women, and she may reflect with great pride on all |

31 | 32 | | that she has accomplished as she embarks on the next exciting |

32 | 33 | | chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it |

33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
