5	6		WHEREAS, CHI St. Luke's Health-Memorial Livingston has been
6	7		awarded the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Hospital
7	8		Accreditation; and
8	9		WHEREAS, Since 1951, the Joint Commission has sought to
9	10		improve public health care by evaluating a wide variety of medical
10	11		institutions and inspiring them to provide safe and effective care
11	12		of the highest quality and value; to earn the Gold Seal of Approval,
12	13		an organization must undergo a rigorous onsite survey every three
13	14		years and demonstrate continuous compliance with industry
14	15		standards; and
15	16		WHEREAS, Livingston's modern hospital began as a modest
16	17		county-owned facility in 1950, and after CHI St. Luke's Health
17	18		Memorial assumed ownership in 1994, the hospital transformed into
18	19		the state-of-the-art facility it is today, with 66 beds, nearly 60
19	20		highly dedicated physicians on staff, and more than 60,000 patient
20	21		services provided annually; accredited since 2010, CHI St. Luke's
21	22		has distinguished itself in such areas as emergency management,
22	23		environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership,
23	24		and medication management; and
24	25		WHEREAS, CHI St. Luke's Health-Memorial Livingston has
25	26		worked tirelessly to provide skilled, compassionate, and
26	27		affordable care to area Texans, and its recent accreditation is a
27	28		testament to the hospital's ongoing commitment to excellence; now,
28	29		therefore, be it
29	30		RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
30	31		Legislature hereby congratulate CHI St. Luke's Health-Memorial
31		-	Livingston on its receipt of T

33	33		Approval for Hospital Accreditation and extend to its physicians,
34	34		nurses, administrators, and other staff sincere best wishes for

37	37		prepared for the hospital as an expression of high regard by the
38	38		Texas House of Representatives.
