| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Frank Mahnich of Gainesville achieved great |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Founded in Dallas in 1971, the Vocal Majority is a |

| 9 | 10 | | 150-member men's choir that has earned numerous accolades for its |

| 10 | 11 | | outstanding performances over the years, including being named an |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | International Champion Barbershop Chorus 13 times by the Barbershop |

| 12 | 13 | | Harmony Society; the VM Ring of Honor recognizes members who have |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | made significant, lasting contributions to the chorus, the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | community, and the Barbershop Harmony Society; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Mahnich has held membership in the Barbershop |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Harmony Society for more than five decades, and during his 41 years |

| 17 | 18 | | with the Vocal Majority, his leadership has been instrumental in |

| 18 | 19 | | the chorus's growth and success; he has received recognition for |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | his role in establishing strategic long-term planning for the VM, |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | as well as for his exemplary service as chapter president and as |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | chair of the 1987 "We the People" event; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Mahnich has led two |

| 23 | 24 | | Gainesville nonprofit organizations as president, and he chaired |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | the committee that created the local dog park, the Dog Depot; he was |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | also involved in the expansion of Leonard Park, and he currently |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | serves as vice president of marketing for Butterfield Stage; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, The skill, professionalism, and commitment to |

| 28 | 29 | | excellence demonstrated by Frank Mahnich have made him an important |

| 29 | 30 | | asset to the Vocal Majority, and he may indeed reflect with pride on |

| 30 | 31 | | his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
