45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Daryl L. Smith has been elected to the office of
67 Fort Bend County constable for Precinct 2, and he is indeed
78 deserving of special recognition; and
89 WHEREAS, Constables are tasked with executing all civil and
910 criminal processes recorded in Fort Bend County and the State of
1011 Texas, including civil citations, notices, writs, subpoenas, and
1112 criminal arrest warrants; they also receive all misdemeanor arrest
1213 warrants from the district attorney's office, and as members of law
1314 enforcement, they are called to act on requests for assistance from
1415 their constituents; Mr. Smith prevailed in the general election
1516 held on November 6, 2018, and as constable for Precinct 2, he
1617 presides over an area that includes Missouri City and other
1718 communities in the northeastern corner of the county; and
1819 WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of
1920 life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts
2021 of Daryl Smith will help to make Fort Bend County an even better
2122 place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it
2223 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
2324 Legislature hereby congratulate Daryl L. Smith on his election as
2425 Fort Bend County constable for Precinct 2 and extend to him sincere
2526 best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it further
2627 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2728 prepared for Constable Smith as an expression of high regard by the
2829 Texas House of Representatives.
