| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Daryl L. Smith has been elected to the office of |

| 6 | 7 | | Fort Bend County constable for Precinct 2, and he is indeed |

| 7 | 8 | | deserving of special recognition; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Constables are tasked with executing all civil and |

| 9 | 10 | | criminal processes recorded in Fort Bend County and the State of |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Texas, including civil citations, notices, writs, subpoenas, and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | criminal arrest warrants; they also receive all misdemeanor arrest |

| 12 | 13 | | warrants from the district attorney's office, and as members of law |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | enforcement, they are called to act on requests for assistance from |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | their constituents; Mr. Smith prevailed in the general election |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | held on November 6, 2018, and as constable for Precinct 2, he |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | presides over an area that includes Missouri City and other |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | communities in the northeastern corner of the county; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts |

| 20 | 21 | | of Daryl Smith will help to make Fort Bend County an even better |

| 21 | 22 | | place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
