| 9 | 10 | | scholarships to students from the Garland Independent School |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | District, awarding nearly $200,000 to well over 200 college-bound |

| 11 | 12 | | Texans over the years; the club has further supported public |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | education through a recognition program for Garland ISD personnel; |

| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The Garland Scottish Rite Club is dedicated to |

| 15 | 16 | | helping those in need of medical care; it supports Hope Clinic |

| 16 | 17 | | Garland, and it hosts blood drives throughout the year for patients |

| 17 | 18 | | of the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, one of the |

| 18 | 19 | | nation's leading pediatric orthopedic hospitals, which provides |

| 19 | 20 | | treatment without regard to a family's ability to pay; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The members of this noteworthy organization have |

| 21 | 22 | | demonstrated a profound commitment to the benevolent mission of the |

| 22 | 23 | | Scottish Rite of Freemasonry by following the principles of |

| 23 | 24 | | brotherly love, tolerance, charity, and truth, and their heartfelt |

| 25 | 26 | | innumerable people in Garland and beyond; now, therefore, be it |
