5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, the Clear |

8 | 9 | | Bay Area Houston region of Texas; and |

9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The more than 631,000 residents of Bay Area Houston |

10 | 11 | | enjoy the region's low-cost business climate, affordable and |

11 | 12 | | diverse housing options, and year-round activities, as well as more |
---|
12 | 13 | | than 3,000 acres of parks and recreational spaces; and |
---|
13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The communities are sustained by five primary |
---|
14 | 15 | | industry clusters: aerospace and aviation, health care, maritime, |
---|
15 | 16 | | specialty chemical, and tourism/recreation, as well as its four |
---|
16 | 17 | | fundamental service sectors: education and workforce development, |
---|
17 | 18 | | governmental services, licensed professional services, and |
---|
18 | 19 | | business support services; the area is home to a number of |

19 | 20 | | outstanding facilities that represent these concentrations, |

20 | 21 | | including the NASA Johnson Space Center, Space Center Houston, the |
---|
21 | 22 | | Bayport Industrial Complex, five major health care systems, five |
---|
22 | 23 | | school districts, two colleges, three universities, the Houston |
---|
23 | 24 | | Spaceport at Ellington Airport, and Port Houston; and |
---|
24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, The Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, the Clear |

25 | 26 | | Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, and the League City Regional Chamber |

26 | 27 | | of Commerce have supported these pillars of local industry through |

27 | 28 | | regional collaboration, responsible leadership, and operational |

28 | 29 | | integrity; the groups' initiatives have created partnerships to |

29 | 30 | | foster technical innovations, workforce development, and a |

30 | 31 | | cooperative approach to business development; and |

31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, The leadership and members of these three exemplary |
