| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The more than 631,000 residents of Bay Area Houston |

| 10 | 11 | | enjoy the region's low-cost business climate, affordable and |

| 11 | 12 | | diverse housing options, and year-round activities, as well as more |

| 12 | 13 | | than 3,000 acres of parks and recreational spaces; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The communities are sustained by five primary |

| 14 | 15 | | industry clusters: aerospace and aviation, health care, maritime, |

| 15 | 16 | | specialty chemical, and tourism/recreation, as well as its four |

| 16 | 17 | | fundamental service sectors: education and workforce development, |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | governmental services, licensed professional services, and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | business support services; the area is home to a number of |

| 19 | 20 | | outstanding facilities that represent these concentrations, |

| 20 | 21 | | including the NASA Johnson Space Center, Space Center Houston, the |

| 21 | 22 | | Bayport Industrial Complex, five major health care systems, five |

| 22 | 23 | | school districts, two colleges, three universities, the Houston |

| 23 | 24 | | Spaceport at Ellington Airport, and Port Houston; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, The Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, the Clear |

| 25 | 26 | | Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, and the League City Regional Chamber |

| 27 | 28 | | regional collaboration, responsible leadership, and operational |
