45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, the Clear
67 Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, and the League City Regional Chamber
78 of Commerce have been instrumental in the growth and success of the
89 Bay Area Houston region of Texas; and
910 WHEREAS, The more than 631,000 residents of Bay Area Houston
1011 enjoy the region's low-cost business climate, affordable and
1112 diverse housing options, and year-round activities, as well as more
1213 than 3,000 acres of parks and recreational spaces; and
1314 WHEREAS, The communities are sustained by five primary
1415 industry clusters: aerospace and aviation, health care, maritime,
1516 specialty chemical, and tourism/recreation, as well as its four
1617 fundamental service sectors: education and workforce development,
1718 governmental services, licensed professional services, and
1819 business support services; the area is home to a number of
1920 outstanding facilities that represent these concentrations,
2021 including the NASA Johnson Space Center, Space Center Houston, the
2122 Bayport Industrial Complex, five major health care systems, five
2223 school districts, two colleges, three universities, the Houston
2324 Spaceport at Ellington Airport, and Port Houston; and
2425 WHEREAS, The Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, the Clear
2526 Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, and the League City Regional Chamber
2627 of Commerce have supported these pillars of local industry through
2728 regional collaboration, responsible leadership, and operational
2829 integrity; the groups' initiatives have created partnerships to
2930 foster technical innovations, workforce development, and a
3031 cooperative approach to business development; and
3132 WHEREAS, The leadership and members of these three exemplary
3233 associations have played a pivotal role in the development of a
3334 diverse economy in the communities of Bay Area Houston, and they are
3435 indeed deserving of recognition for their outstanding efforts; now,
3536 therefore, be it
3637 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
3738 Legislature hereby commend the Bay Area Houston Economic
3839 Partnership, the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, and the
3940 League City Regional Chamber of Commerce for their contributions to
4041 Bay Area Houston and extend to all those associated with the
4142 organizations sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
4243 further
4344 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4445 prepared for the groups as an expression of high regard by the Texas
4546 House of Representatives.
