45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The University of Texas at Austin is an institution
67 of exceptional standing in the Lone Star State, engendering a
78 strong sense of pride among its alumni that stays with them long
89 after they graduate; and
910 WHEREAS, While UT alumni have distinguished themselves in
1011 myriad fields of endeavor, they forever remain Longhorns who carry
1112 with them special memories of their time at UT and draw upon the
1213 knowledge, skills, and experiences they acquired in their years of
1314 study; and
1415 WHEREAS, In the time that has passed since the 85th Texas
1516 Legislative Session, we have bidden farewell to a number of UT
1617 alumni, and it is fitting that we pause to remember their lives and
1718 achievements; and
1819 WHEREAS, Gone but never to be forgotten, these men and women
1920 were cherished family members, and many became role models in their
2021 professions and leaders in their communities; often loyally,
2122 vocally, and even boisterously supportive of their alma mater
2223 throughout their lives, some former Longhorns took on active roles
2324 in alumni organizations and committees, where they shared their
2425 time and talents to help guide their beloved university toward a
2526 still brighter future; and
2627 WHEREAS, Regardless of where they ventured to make their mark
2728 on the world, these UT graduates were connected by the common thread
2829 of having attended one of the best universities in the nation, and
2930 they have left behind legacies to be treasured by their loved ones
3031 and fellow alumni; now, therefore, be it
3132 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
3233 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the lives of the alumni of The
3334 University of Texas who have passed away since the last legislative
3435 session and extend deepest sympathy to all who mourn their passing.
