| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, While UT alumni have distinguished themselves in |

| 10 | 11 | | myriad fields of endeavor, they forever remain Longhorns who carry |

| 11 | 12 | | with them special memories of their time at UT and draw upon the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | knowledge, skills, and experiences they acquired in their years of |

| 13 | 14 | | study; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, In the time that has passed since the 85th Texas |

| 15 | 16 | | Legislative Session, we have bidden farewell to a number of UT |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | alumni, and it is fitting that we pause to remember their lives and |

| 17 | 18 | | achievements; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Gone but never to be forgotten, these men and women |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | were cherished family members, and many became role models in their |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | professions and leaders in their communities; often loyally, |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | vocally, and even boisterously supportive of their alma mater |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | throughout their lives, some former Longhorns took on active roles |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | in alumni organizations and committees, where they shared their |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | time and talents to help guide their beloved university toward a |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | still brighter future; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Regardless of where they ventured to make their mark |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | on the world, these UT graduates were connected by the common thread |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | of having attended one of the best universities in the nation, and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | they have left behind legacies to be treasured by their loved ones |

| 30 | 31 | | and fellow alumni; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the lives of the alumni of The |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | University of Texas who have passed away since the last legislative |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | session and extend deepest sympathy to all who mourn their passing. |
