5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Christy Ann Jackson of Mexia passed away on November |

6 | 7 | | 1, 2018, at the age of 61, leaving her loved ones to treasure the |

7 | 8 | | many happy memories they shared with her; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in Fort Worth on April 20, 1957, to Louise and |

9 | 10 | | David McClurkan, the former Christy McClurkan grew up with the |
---|
10 | 11 | | companionship of her twin sister, Cindy; a graduate of Mexia High |
---|
11 | 12 | | School and a proud Black Cat, she went on to earn an associate |
---|
12 | 13 | | degree in horticulture from Tarrant County Junior College before |
---|
13 | 14 | | taking her first job at Maden's Flowers; and |
---|
14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, On June 4, 1977, she exchanged wedding vows with the |
---|
15 | 16 | | love of her life, Ivan Jackson Jr.; the couple went into business |
---|
16 | 17 | | managing auto stores with her parents-in-law and later opened |
---|
17 | 18 | | Jackson's True Value, a hardware store that grew to be one of the |
---|
18 | 19 | | town's most popular retailers; along the way, her naturally |
---|
19 | 20 | | outgoing disposition and desire to help people led to her |
---|
20 | 21 | | involvement in numerous civic associations; and |

21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Jackson was the devoted mother of a son, Lance, |
---|
22 | 23 | | and she deeply cherished her daughter-in-law, Stephanie, and her |
---|
23 | 24 | | grandson, Fletch; she and her husband enjoyed staying at their |
---|
24 | 25 | | lodge in Tin Cup, Colorado, with their co-owner, Scott Mack, and |

25 | 26 | | they welcomed a number of friends and relatives as their guests |

26 | 27 | | there; passionate about gardening, she helped beautify the "Jackson |

27 | 28 | | Row" area in Forest Glade with plants and flowers, and she was also |

28 | 29 | | fond of fishing and watching sunsets and sunrises; among the many |
---|
29 | 30 | | things that endeared her to everyone around her were her radiant |

30 | 31 | | smile and her hugs; and |

31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Christy Jackson embraced life to the fullest, and |

32 | 33 | | those who were privileged to know her will forever remember her |

33 | 34 | | joyous spirit and her tremendous warmth, grace, and kindness; now, |
