| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Dovie Lee Greene Jackson on December 23, 2018, at the age |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Shellie and Ruby O'Neal Greene, the |

| 9 | 10 | | former Dovie Greene was born on September 8, 1952; she graduated |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | from Ector High School and went on to receive her bachelor's degree |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | in business administration from The University of Texas of the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Permian Basin; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Jackson was the first African American and the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | first woman to be named deputy comptroller for the State of Texas, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | and she served as president emeritus of the Black American |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Comptroller Employees Association; she was recognized in 1998 as a |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Distinguished Former Odessan by the Heritage of Odessa Foundation, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | and UT Permian Basin named her its 2006 Distinguished Alumnus; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Jackson enjoyed the love |

| 20 | 21 | | and support of her husband, Isaac Jackson, with whom she shared a |

| 21 | 22 | | rewarding marriage; she took great pride in her three children, |

| 22 | 23 | | Tracy, Isaac, and Christopher, and she had the pleasure of seeing |

| 23 | 24 | | her family grow to include four grandchildren, Shamar, Brittney, |

| 24 | 25 | | Briana, and Dorian; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this esteemed |

| 26 | 27 | | woman's warmth and friendship will always remember her with great |
