5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Rayford H. Rash of Goodrich retired as director of |

6 | 7 | | public works for the City of Shepherd on February 28, 2019, drawing |

7 | 8 | | to a close more than three decades of outstanding service to his |

8 | 9 | | fellow Texans; and |
---|
9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Ray Rash worked for two other municipalities for 14 |
---|
10 | 11 | | years before being hired by the City of Shepherd on August 3, 1998; |
---|
11 | 12 | | after his promotion to public works director in August 2007, he was |
---|
12 | 13 | | responsible for overseeing various departments that play a vital |
---|
13 | 14 | | role in the daily lives of residents, and he had the distinction of |
---|
14 | 15 | | being the first city employee to retire with two decades of service; |
---|
15 | 16 | | and |
---|
16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Rash has enjoyed the love |
---|
17 | 18 | | and support of his wife, Kathy Leloux; and |
---|
18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Ray Rash's hard work, professionalism, and |

19 | 20 | | dedication to excellence have earned him the lasting respect of all |

20 | 21 | | who know him, and he may reflect with pride on his achievements as |
---|
21 | 22 | | he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, |

23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Rayford H. Rash on his retirement |

25 | 26 | | as director of public works for the City of Shepherd and extend to |

26 | 27 | | him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
