| 7 | 8 | | Early Learners with a dedication ceremony on January 26, 2019; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The new campus is named in honor of Dr. Sarah |

| 9 | 10 | | K. Jandrucko, a former Mansfield ISD educator who was a champion |

| 10 | 11 | | for early childhood education over the course of 34 years with the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | district; hired as a fourth-grade teacher at Alice Ponder |

| 12 | 13 | | Elementary School in 1978, Dr. Jandrucko was later appointed |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | principal at J. L. Boren and Glenn Harmon Elementary Schools before |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | moving into administrative roles at the district level; prior to |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | her retirement in 2012, she served as an assistant superintendent |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | of early education and area superintendent; she maintained a career |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | focus on nurturing the potential of the district's youngest |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | learners, and the Dr. Sarah K. Jandrucko Academy is the culmination |

| 19 | 20 | | of her longtime support for the creation of a Mansfield ISD |

| 20 | 21 | | prekindergarten campus; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Designed to improve the academic readiness of young |

| 22 | 23 | | students, the academy aims to promote literacy and numeracy |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | development; the school is centered on research asserting that |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | children learn best through active, exploratory experiences, and it |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | features 16 distinct learning environments; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, A fitting tribute to the contributions of its |

| 27 | 28 | | namesake, the Dr. Sarah K. Jandrucko Academy will equip young |

| 28 | 29 | | Texans with the knowledge and skills necessary to build a brighter |

| 29 | 30 | | future, and it is indeed a welcome addition to the Mansfield |

| 30 | 31 | | Independent School District; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

| 32 | 33 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the dedication of the Dr. Sarah |
