| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Steve Matthews is concluding his service on the |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Matthews was sworn in to represent Place 2 on |

| 8 | 9 | | the board on February 27, 2018, and he has further benefited the |

| 9 | 10 | | college through his involvement with its Finance and Audit |

| 10 | 11 | | Committee and Committee of One Hundred, as well as the board of |

| 11 | 12 | | directors for the Collin College Foundation; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Active in the wider community as well, Mr. Matthews |

| 13 | 14 | | has chaired the Allen Economic Development Corporation, Arts of |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Collin County, and the Allen, Frisco, and Plano chambers of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | commerce; moreover, he has given generously of his time and talents |

| 16 | 17 | | to such groups as the Public Affairs Council, the Medical City Plano |

| 17 | 18 | | Community Advisory Council, and the Plano Independent School |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | District Gifted and Talented Board Advisory Committee; he is a |

| 19 | 20 | | graduate of Leadership Allen, Leadership Plano, Leadership |

| 20 | 21 | | Richardson, and Leadership North Texas; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Matthews has devoted himself to |

| 22 | 23 | | raising his young son, in whom he takes great pride; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Steve Matthews has played an important part in |

| 24 | 25 | | furthering the mission of Collin College, and he may indeed reflect |

| 25 | 26 | | with satisfaction on his exceptional contributions; now, |
