| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Proud members of the Republican Women of Harrison |

| 6 | 7 | | County celebrated the 50th anniversary of their club's founding in |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Republican Women of Harrison County was |

| 9 | 10 | | organized in May 1968 and was admitted to the Texas Federation of |

| 10 | 11 | | Republican Women the following July; over the years, its members |

| 11 | 12 | | have generously volunteered their time and talents to support the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Republican Party through numerous projects and events; one of the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | highlights of the club's calendar is the annual Lincoln Day Dinner, |

| 14 | 15 | | where the group has welcomed a host of candidates for public office, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | including former presidents George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush, |

| 16 | 17 | | former governor Rick Perry, and Governor Greg Abbott; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In addition to working elections and hosting |

| 18 | 19 | | candidate forums, members have supported the local public library |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | and food pantry, as well as military personnel; they have also |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | played an active role in the observance of Constitution Week at area |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | schools, where they speak to students and distribute constitution |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | booklets, and they award scholarships to deserving seniors; |

| 23 | 24 | | moreover, many club members have served on local boards and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | committees to help address issues facing Harrison County; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, The Republican Women of Harrison County has worked |

| 26 | 27 | | to build a stronger Republican Party and a more prosperous future |

| 27 | 28 | | for all, and it is a great pleasure to honor this outstanding |
