45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Matthew Wallace of Montague County 4-H was named the
67 recipient of a 2017 4-H Gold Star Award; and
78 WHEREAS, First presented in 1933, the Gold Star Award was
89 created to recognize the hard work of exemplary 4-H members; it is
910 the highest county-level achievement prize conferred by 4-H; and
1011 WHEREAS, To qualify for the Gold Star Award, members must
1112 demonstrate leadership ability and participate in one or more
1213 community service initiatives; in addition, they are required to
1314 belong to 4-H for a minimum of three years, to complete projects in
1415 three different areas of emphasis, and to participate in a variety
1516 of activities; and
1617 WHEREAS, Through his hard work and commitment to excellence,
1718 Matthew Wallace has brought great credit to his 4-H club, and he may
1819 indeed look forward to a future bright with promise; now,
1920 therefore, be it
2021 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
2122 Legislature hereby congratulate Matthew Wallace on his receipt of a
2223 4-H Gold Star Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for
2324 continued success; and, be it further
2425 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2526 prepared for Mr. Wallace as an expression of high regard by the
2627 Texas House of Representatives.
