| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Patrick Debardelaben |

| 6 | 7 | | of West Columbia were deeply saddened by his passing on March 9, |

| 7 | 8 | | 2019, at the age of 67; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Michigan, Patrick Debardelaben was born |

| 9 | 10 | | on August 2, 1951, and he grew up with the companionship of his two |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | brothers and two sisters; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Known affectionately as "Coach D," Mr. Debardelaben |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | enjoyed a long and successful career in sports and education, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | serving Northside Elementary School in Angleton as a teacher and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | coach for two decades before his retirement; he also refereed |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | basketball and football games for the Texas Association of Sports |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Officials, and he dedicated 25 years to officiating for the |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | American Softball Association as well as many youth programs in |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Brazoria County; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Debardelaben drew strength from the love and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | support of his fiancée, Yvette; he was the proud father of a |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | daughter, Mia, and he delighted in the company of a caring, blended |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | family, which included many beloved grandchildren and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | stepchildren; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Possessed of a warm and generous nature, a keen |

| 25 | 26 | | sense of humor, and a joyous zest for life, Patrick Debardelaben |

| 26 | 27 | | brightened the world for all who knew him, and they will forever |

| 27 | 28 | | hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
