10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 408.025(a-1), Labor Code, is amended to | |
11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (a-1) A treating doctor may delegate to a physician | |
13 | 13 | assistant who is licensed to practice in this state under Chapter | |
14 | 14 | 204, Occupations Code, or an advanced practice registered nurse who | |
15 | 15 | is licensed to practice in this state under Chapter 301, | |
16 | 16 | Occupations Code, the authority to complete and sign a work status | |
17 | 17 | report regarding an injured employee's ability to return to | |
18 | 18 | work. The delegating treating doctor is responsible for the acts | |
19 | 19 | of the physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse | |
20 | 20 | under this subsection. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
