| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 41, Election Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 41.0051 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 41.0051. PROPOSITION FOR APPROVAL OF ISSUANCE OF BONDS | |
| 13 | 13 | OR OTHER DEBT. (a) A proposition for approval of the issuance of | |
| 14 | 14 | bonds or other debt shall be submitted to the voters in an election | |
| 15 | 15 | held on the November uniform election date, except as provided by | |
| 16 | 16 | Subsection (b). | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) Notwithstanding Section 41.0011(a), an emergency | |
| 18 | 18 | election under Section 41.0011 at which a proposition described by | |
| 19 | 19 | Subsection (a) is submitted to the voters shall be held on any | |
| 20 | 20 | uniform election date. | |
| 21 | 21 | (c) If a law outside this code requires a proposition | |
| 22 | 22 | described by Subsection (a) to be submitted to the voters in an | |
| 23 | 23 | election held on a date other than the November uniform election | |
| 24 | 24 | date, the authority administering the election shall set the | |
| 25 | 25 | election date to comply with this section. | |
| 26 | 26 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 27 | 27 | to an election ordered on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
| 28 | 28 | An election ordered before the effective date of this Act is | |
| 29 | 29 | governed by the law in effect when the election was ordered. | |
| 30 | 30 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
