| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. (a) On receipt of the money, the comptroller of | |
| 12 | 12 | public accounts shall deposit to the credit of the disaster | |
| 13 | 13 | contingency fund established under Section 418.073, Government | |
| 14 | 14 | Code, any money received by this state as a result of the lawsuit | |
| 15 | 15 | styled State v. United States, No. 7:15-cv-00151-O (N.D. Tex. Aug. | |
| 16 | 16 | 21, 2018), that is available for general governmental purposes. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) Money deposited to the disaster contingency fund under | |
| 18 | 18 | Subsection (a) of this section may be appropriated only for the | |
| 19 | 19 | purpose of paying costs associated with the hurricane known as | |
| 20 | 20 | "Hurricane Harvey" that struck the southeastern region of this | |
| 21 | 21 | state in 2017. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 23 | 23 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 24 | 24 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 25 | 25 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 26 | 26 | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
