| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Sections 1301.255(a) and (b), Occupations Code, | |
| 11 | 11 | are amended to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (a) The board shall adopt [the following plumbing codes, as | |
| 13 | 13 | those codes existed on May 31, 2001: | |
| 14 | 14 | [(1) the Uniform Plumbing Code, as published by the | |
| 15 | 15 | International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials; | |
| 16 | 16 | and | |
| 17 | 17 | [(2)] the 2015 edition of the International Plumbing | |
| 18 | 18 | Code, as published by the International Code Council. | |
| 19 | 19 | (b) The board by rule may adopt a later edition [editions] | |
| 20 | 20 | of the plumbing code [codes] listed in Subsection (a). | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2019, the Texas State | |
| 22 | 22 | Board of Plumbing Examiners shall adopt rules to implement Section | |
| 23 | 23 | 1301.255, Occupations Code, as amended by this Act. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
