9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Chapter 76, Government Code, is amended by | |
11 | 11 | adding Section 76.019 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 76.019. POLICY REGARDING SUPERVISION OFFICER MEETINGS | |
13 | 13 | AND VISITS. A community supervision and corrections department | |
14 | 14 | shall adopt a policy regarding the scheduling of meetings or visits | |
15 | 15 | with a defendant placed on community supervision and supervised by | |
16 | 16 | the department. The policy must require the officer supervising | |
17 | 17 | the defendant to take into consideration the defendant's work, | |
18 | 18 | treatment, or community service schedule, as applicable, when | |
19 | 19 | scheduling any required meetings or visits. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. Not later than January 1, 2020, each community | |
21 | 21 | supervision and corrections department shall adopt the policy | |
22 | 22 | required by Section 76.019, Government Code, as added by this Act. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
